Repentigny is a city of 88,088 inhabitants in Quebec (Canada), located in the regional county municipality (MRC) of L'Assomption in the administrative region of Lanaudière. Located at the mouth of the L'Assomption River, this city is the thirteenth city by population in Quebec.

Repentigny is a toponym associated with the name of Pierre Legardeur, Sieur de Repentigny, who himself held it from the village of Repentigny in the Pays d'Auge in Normandy. The Company of New France had donated to him the seigneury of La Chesnaye in 1647, located on the territory of the current city.
